Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB), which rose 2.44% or 0.82 points to trade at 34.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Vopak (AS:VOPA) added 1.83% or 0.74 points to end at 41.38 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.73% or 1.170 points to 68.680 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which fell 2.17% or 0.45 points to trade at 20.31 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 2.11% or 0.184 points to end at 8.556 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was down 0.95% or 0.53 points to 55.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 68 to 60 and 10 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.07% to 13.92.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.95% or 1.05 to $52.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.92% or 1.08 to hit $55.28 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.39% or 17.35 to trade at $1232.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.0509, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8569.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 102.16.
