Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 1.05% or 0.40 points to trade at 38.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Relx NV (AS:RELN) added 1.00% or 0.165 points to end at 16.700 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.65% or 1.40 points to 218.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which fell 2.70% or 0.139 points to trade at 5.009 at the close. NN Group (AS:NN) declined 2.51% or 0.74 points to end at 28.96 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was down 2.22% or 0.191 points to 8.416.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 63 to 57 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Relx NV (AS:RELN) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.00% or 0.165 to 16.700.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.31% to 14.18.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.59% or 0.85 to $54.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.31% or 0.73 to hit $56.57 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.41% or 17.35 to trade at $1250.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0579, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.8428.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 100.98.
