Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 2.36% or 0.111 points to trade at 4.810 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.02% or 1.330 points to end at 67.120 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.00% or 1.15 points to 116.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which fell 1.69% or 0.24 points to trade at 13.93 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.47% or 0.300 points to end at 20.080 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was down 1.15% or 0.205 points to 17.595.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 63 to 61 and 11 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.49% to 13.40.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.50% or 1.14 to $44.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.52% or 1.21 to hit $46.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.01% or 12.38 to trade at $1210.92 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1404, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 95.80.
