Trump slaps 30% tariffs on EU, Mexico
Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.85% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which rose 1.34% or 0.42 points to trade at 31.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) added 1.09% or 0.21 points to end at 19.49 and Relx PLC (AS:REL) was up 0.44% or 0.20 points to 45.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which fell 4.90% or 1.86 points to trade at 36.08 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.80% or 1.02 points to end at 25.85 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) was down 3.47% or 55.60 points to 1,548.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 71 to 25 and 10 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.00% or 1.47 to $74.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.98% or 1.52 to hit $78.22 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 23.80 to trade at $3,384.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 98.67.
