Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.96% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 5.17% or 0.430 points to trade at 8.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB) added 3.87% or 1.26 points to end at 33.82 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 3.82% or 0.76 points to 20.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 0.63% or 0.36 points to trade at 56.45 at the close. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) added 0.11% or 0.003 points to end at 2.668 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was up 0.48% or 0.080 points to 16.810.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 102 to 32 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aalberts Industries (AS:AALB) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.87% or 1.26 to 33.82. Shares in Relx NV (AS:RELN) rose to all time highs; up 0.48% or 0.080 to 16.810.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.35% to 13.91.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.22% or 0.12 to $53.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.12% or 0.07 to hit $56.44 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.51% or 6.45 to trade at $1247.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0566, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8582.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 101.59.
