Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.66% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 7.57% or 3.73 points to trade at 52.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 5.33% or 0.90 points to end at 17.79 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 3.00% or 6.30 points to 216.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 5.66% or 0.461 points to trade at 7.681 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) declined 1.25% or 0.28 points to end at 21.65 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was down 1.21% or 0.62 points to 50.51.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 78 to 47 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Altice NV (AS:ATCA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.33% or 0.90 to 17.79.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.78% to 13.84.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.34% or 0.68 to $51.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.63% or 0.34 to hit $54.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.91% or 10.70 to trade at $1161.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.0538, while EUR/GBP fell 0.75% to 0.8378.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 101.72.
