Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.58% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 3.99% or 0.118 points to trade at 3.072 at the close. Meanwhile, Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 3.10% or 1.34 points to end at 44.71 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was up 1.81% or 0.64 points to 36.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 1.93% or 0.435 points to trade at 22.050 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 0.31% or 0.07 points to end at 20.93 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was down 0.29% or 0.014 points to 4.751.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 75 to 51 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.99% or 0.118 to 3.072.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.66% to 11.29.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.69% or 0.81 to $48.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.43% or 0.72 to hit $50.92 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.99 to trade at $1248.11 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1629, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8912.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 94.03.
