Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.41% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which rose 3.67% or 2.68 points to trade at 75.63 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 2.58% or 0.56 points to end at 22.27 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) was up 1.87% or 0.161 points to 8.750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which fell 2.30% or 1.48 points to trade at 62.94 at the close. Randstad (AS:RAND) declined 1.90% or 1.09 points to end at 56.42 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was down 1.77% or 1.08 points to 59.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 70 to 50 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.87% or 0.161 to 8.750.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.11% to 13.33.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.11% or 0.06 to $53.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $55.88 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.60% or 7.35 to trade at $1232.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.0595, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8512.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 101.11.
