Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 1.89% or 0.26 points to trade at 14.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 1.08% or 0.93 points to end at 87.18 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was up 0.94% or 0.175 points to 18.765 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.56% or 1.090 points to trade at 68.670 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 1.56% or 0.86 points to end at 54.29 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 0.79% or 0.023 points to 2.903.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 73 to 55 and 10 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.40% to 11.96.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.77% or 0.33 to $43.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.52% or 0.24 to hit $45.99 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.92% or 11.59 to trade at $1244.81 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1186, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8796.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 97.06.
