Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 2.29% or 0.068 points to trade at 3.040 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 1.80% or 0.40 points to end at 22.60 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.71% or 0.335 points to 19.950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which fell 0.70% or 0.10 points to trade at 14.18 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) declined 0.67% or 0.165 points to end at 24.290 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) was down 0.56% or 0.29 points to 51.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 64 to 59 and 9 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.46% to 11.44.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.29% or 0.63 to $49.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.91% or 0.47 to hit $51.93 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 9.39 to trade at $1265.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1170, while EUR/GBP rose 0.82% to 0.8732.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 97.41.
