Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.55% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 3.55% or 24.20 points to trade at 706.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) added 3.21% or 0.84 points to end at 27.03 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) was up 3.10% or 47.00 points to 1,563.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which fell 1.88% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.55 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 1.42% or 1.42 points to end at 98.38 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was down 1.25% or 0.53 points to 41.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 66 to 26 and 16 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.17% or 0.12 to $72.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.33% or 0.25 to hit $75.86 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.62% or 45.19 to trade at $2,838.69 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 107.76.
