Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.86% or 0.478 points to trade at 12.868 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.74% or 5.32 points to end at 199.42 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 1.74% or 0.049 points to 2.859 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 1.37% or 1.70 points to trade at 122.00 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 0.67% or 0.21 points to end at 31.24 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 0.49% or 0.750 points to 152.350.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 94 to 38 and 8 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.26% to 16.21.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.93% or 0.52 to $56.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.20% or 0.12 to hit $60.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.19% or 18.45 to trade at $1530.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1052, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.9072.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 98.450.
