Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which rose 2.60% or 11.70 points to trade at 461.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) added 2.03% or 31.00 points to end at 1,556.60 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) was up 1.97% or 0.64 points to 32.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which fell 2.24% or 0.98 points to trade at 42.71 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 0.98% or 0.94 points to end at 95.10 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was down 0.38% or 0.13 points to 33.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 55 to 39 and 10 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.93% or 0.62 to $67.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.88% or 0.62 to hit $71.18 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.80 to trade at $3,041.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 103.42.
