Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which rose 4.47% or 1.82 points to trade at 42.53 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.57% or 1.02 points to end at 29.61 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 3.34% or 0.64 points to 19.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which fell 8.75% or 2.44 points to trade at 25.46 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.68% or 0.23 points to end at 33.73 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 0.66% or 0.03 points to 3.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 73 to 23 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.34% or 0.64 to 19.63.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.11% or 0.74 to $67.29 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.07% or 0.75 to hit $70.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 8.49 to trade at $2,999.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 103.68.
