Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 5.55% or 35.90 points to trade at 682.50 at the close. Meanwhile, ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) added 3.15% or 16.20 points to end at 531.20 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was up 2.00% or 2.40 points to 122.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which fell 5.04% or 3.02 points to trade at 56.92 at the close. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) declined 2.37% or 36.80 points to end at 1,516.00 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) was down 1.24% or 1.25 points to 99.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 57 to 40 and 11 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.66% or 0.49 to $73.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.42% or 0.32 to hit $76.17 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 1.04 to trade at $2,795.64 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 107.75.
