Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 2.77% or 2.64 points to trade at 97.86 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.26% or 13.70 points to end at 619.70 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.81% or 0.48 points to 26.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which fell 1.11% or 0.84 points to trade at 74.54 at the close. Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) declined 0.90% or 0.23 points to end at 25.20 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) was down 0.43% or 0.14 points to 33.78.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 56 to 37 and 14 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.10% or 0.07 to $71.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $74.69 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 9.06 to trade at $3,141.24 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 103.81.
