Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 3.07% or 1.06 points to trade at 35.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) added 2.30% or 0.55 points to end at 24.51 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 1.87% or 0.07 points to 4.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which fell 0.97% or 3.80 points to trade at 388.00 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) declined 0.85% or 0.80 points to end at 93.18 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 0.55% or 3.10 points to 561.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 58 to 44 and 6 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.04% or 1.90 to $64.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.60% or 1.72 to hit $67.98 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.14 to trade at $3,425.44 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 98.39.
