Most Fed members eye rate cuts this year, but splits emerge on next steps
Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Prosus (AS:PRX), which rose 4.63% or 2.08 points to trade at 46.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 4.05% or 3.16 points to end at 81.20 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was up 1.26% or 0.46 points to 36.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which fell 1.26% or 0.29 points to trade at 22.78 at the close. Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) declined 1.20% or 0.36 points to end at 29.60 and Aegon Ltd (AS:AEGN) was down 1.20% or 0.08 points to 6.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 64 to 35 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Prosus (AS:PRX) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 4.63% or 2.08 to 46.97.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.09% or 0.69 to $62.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.36% or 0.89 to hit $64.74 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 21.02 to trade at $3,398.12 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 98.71.
