Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa), which rose 0.94% or 0.235 points to trade at 25.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Takeaway Com Holding BV (AS:TKWY) added 0.78% or 0.6500 points to end at 84.1500 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.72% or 1.100 points to 153.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which fell 3.35% or 1.09 points to trade at 31.45 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 1.36% or 0.88 points to end at 63.92 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was down 1.25% or 0.38 points to 29.99.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 75 to 53 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in NN Group NV (AS:NN) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.25% or 0.38 to 29.99.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.15% to 17.67.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.24% or 0.68 to $55.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.30% or 0.77 to hit $59.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1551.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1083, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.9062.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 98.093.
