Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.04% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 3.20% or 0.70 points to trade at 22.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 2.62% or 0.133 points to end at 5.218 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 2.30% or 1.470 points to 65.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 0.43% or 0.95 points to trade at 221.15 at the close. Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 55.32 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was up 0.08% or 0.020 points to 26.185.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 100 to 28 and 10 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.55% to 13.09 a new 3-months low.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.70% or 0.37 to $52.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.46% or 0.26 to hit $55.75 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.25% or 2.95 to trade at $1196.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.0639, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8711.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 101.20.
