Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Food Producers & Processors and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares declined 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Jet Contractors (CS:JET), which rose 9.99% or 15.70 points to trade at 172.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) added 9.99% or 5.34 points to end at 58.82 and IB Maroc Com SA (CS:IBC) was up 9.89% or 8.70 points to 96.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lydec (CS:LYD), which fell 5.32% or 33.00 points to trade at 587.00 at the close. Lesieur Cristal (CS:LESU) declined 4.42% or 7.40 points to end at 160.10 and Salafin (CS:SLF) was down 4.41% or 39 points to 845.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 25 to 24 and 1 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.70% or 0.34 to $49.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.02% or 0.52 to hit $51.49 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.19 to trade at $1258.59 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.27% to 11.1020, while USD/MAD rose 0.34% to 9.5181.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 93.82.
