Investing.com – Morocco stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction & Building Materials, Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure and Holding Companies sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares added 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Maghreb Oxygene (CS:OXYG), which rose 4.94% or 8.00 points to trade at 170.00 at the close. Meanwhile, LafargeHolcim Maroc (CS:LHM) added 2.92% or 48 points to end at 1690 and Ciments Du Maroc (CS:SCM) was up 1.88% or 30 points to 1630 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lesieur Cristal (CS:LESU), which fell 8.77% or 12.80 points to trade at 133.20 at the close. Auto Hall (CS:AUTO) declined 5.00% or 3.95 points to end at 75.00 and Med Paper (CS:PAP) was down 4.76% or 1.00 points to 20.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 15 to 10 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lesieur Cristal (CS:LESU) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.77% or 12.80 to 133.20.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 4.24% or 2.04 to $46.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.77% or 2.16 to hit $55.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 7.00 to trade at $1263.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.09% to 10.8870, while USD/MAD fell 0.27% to 9.5302.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 96.020.
