Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Healthcare and Telecoms Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.44%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.29% or 13.97 points to trade at 438.01 at the close. Meanwhile, VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) added 0.39% or 0.10 points to end at 25.85 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was down 0.15% or 0.060 points to 40.010 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 4.28% or 29.51 points to trade at 660.00 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 4.15% or 1.51 points to end at 34.86 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was down 3.33% or 0.780 points to 22.640.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 226 to 78 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.94% or 24.04 to $1260.44 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.76% or 0.37 to hit $49.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.54 to trade at $52.19 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.59% to 18.7520, while EUR/MXN rose 1.27% to 20.9226.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 97.36.
