Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 2.38% or 0.670 points to trade at 28.790 at the close. Meanwhile, Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 1.48% or 1.630 points to end at 111.680 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 1.27% or 6.100 points to 485.650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which fell 2.06% or 0.550 points to trade at 26.140 at the close. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) declined 1.95% or 0.510 points to end at 25.610 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was down 1.80% or 1.970 points to 107.740.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 74 to 71 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.53% or 6.30 to $1202.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.52% or 0.27 to hit $52.64 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $55.70 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.00% to 21.7380, while EUR/MXN fell 0.01% to 23.0460.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 101.53.
