Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 13.80% or 2.910 points to trade at 24.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 3.54% or 0.770 points to end at 22.530 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 2.71% or 2.340 points to 88.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO), which fell 5.05% or 4.93 points to trade at 92.63 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 4.13% or 11.02 points to end at 255.50 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was down 3.36% or 5.13 points to 147.68.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 145 to 124 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.13% or 1.59 to $1265.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.77% or 0.38 to hit $49.24 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.34 to trade at $52.07 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.72% to 19.0455, while EUR/MXN fell 0.98% to 20.7120.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 99.00.
