Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 2.19% or 0.59 points to trade at 27.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 0.73% or 3.01 points to end at 414.00 and Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) was up 0.66% or 0.75 points to 114.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD), which fell 1.50% or 2.66 points to trade at 175.08 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 1.09% or 0.760 points to end at 68.840 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 1.07% or 0.250 points to 23.180.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 61 to 53 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.41% or 5.03 to $1224.23 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.08 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $49.67 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.20% to 18.1938, while EUR/MXN fell 0.30% to 20.6395.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 95.99.
