Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which rose 1.67% or 2.20 points to trade at 133.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) added 1.46% or 0.390 points to end at 27.040 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 0.79% or 0.260 points to 33.310 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 3.94% or 20.97 points to trade at 510.96 at the close. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 3.11% or 1.320 points to end at 41.160 and Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) was down 2.90% or 3.80 points to 127.27.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 155 to 113 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.11% or 1.320 to 41.160.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.66% or 8.80 to $1326.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.98% or 1.24 to hit $61.36 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $64.57 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 18.7077, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 23.2188.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 89.56.
