Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Materials and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.88% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 6.13% or 40.57 points to trade at 702.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 4.88% or 19.83 points to end at 425.99 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was up 2.46% or 0.550 points to 22.890 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which fell 3.21% or 0.81 points to trade at 24.46 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) declined 2.26% or 0.770 points to end at 33.250 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was down 1.35% or 1.450 points to 105.780.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 174 to 80 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.41% or 5.06 to $1222.04 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.86% or 0.40 to hit $46.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.99% or 0.49 to trade at $48.85 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.20% to 19.1696, while EUR/MXN fell 0.66% to 20.8438.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 99.44.
