Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Goods & Services and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.35% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 3.16% or 1.05 points to trade at 34.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 3.04% or 1.550 points to end at 52.620 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 2.93% or 0.500 points to 17.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD), which fell 1.48% or 2.65 points to trade at 176.11 at the close. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 1.28% or 2.76 points to end at 213.50 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was down 1.13% or 8.64 points to 754.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 97 to 92 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.55% or 19.26 to $1223.04 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.11% or 0.97 to hit $47.01 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.68% or 0.82 to trade at $49.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.55% to 18.2178, while EUR/MXN fell 0.04% to 20.7059.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 95.94.
