Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.33% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 3.91% or 1.240 points to trade at 32.960 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 3.51% or 28.48 points to end at 838.90 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 3.32% or 1.000 points to 31.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA), which fell 3.72% or 8.12 points to trade at 210.28 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 1.37% or 0.250 points to end at 18.010 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was down 0.87% or 0.970 points to 110.680.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 131 to 102 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.12% or 1.46 to $1217.64 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.23% or 0.56 to hit $46.05 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.40% or 0.67 to trade at $48.41 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.43% to 17.7015, while EUR/MXN fell 0.54% to 20.1813.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 95.54.
