Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 3.29% or 0.850 points to trade at 26.690 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 3.27% or 3.130 points to end at 98.850 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) was up 3.20% or 0.810 points to 26.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 1.67% or 0.290 points to trade at 17.090 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) declined 1.21% or 1.590 points to end at 130.330 and Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) was down 1.15% or 0.360 points to 30.950.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 151 to 113 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.21% or 2.50 to $1197.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.87% or 0.46 to hit $52.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.42 to trade at $55.59 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.40% to 21.4777, while EUR/MXN fell 1.08% to 22.8603.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 101.17.
