Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods & Services, Financial Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 4.84% or 1.090 points to trade at 23.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 3.07% or 25.95 points to end at 870.63 and Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) was up 2.25% or 0.74 points to 33.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 2.64% or 11.11 points to trade at 410.00 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 2.02% or 7.37 points to end at 356.81 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was down 1.69% or 0.32 points to 18.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 132 to 124 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.07% or 25.95 to 870.63.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.28% or 3.60 to $1267.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.48% or 0.22 to hit $46.05 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.11 to trade at $48.26 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.23% to 18.1275, while EUR/MXN fell 0.19% to 20.3072.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 97.16.
