Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB), which rose 2.70% or 0.800 points to trade at 30.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 2.04% or 7.740 points to end at 387.050 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 1.21% or 0.260 points to 21.670 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which fell 2.80% or 0.690 points to trade at 23.920 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 2.42% or 0.400 points to end at 16.100 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was down 1.99% or 0.550 points to 27.060.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 174 to 106 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.35 to $1129.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.38% or 0.20 to hit $52.69 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $54.84 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 20.7545, while EUR/MXN fell 0.02% to 21.6665.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 103.07.
