Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Goods & Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO), which rose 9.51% or 8.810 points to trade at 101.410 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) added 3.31% or 1.04 points to end at 32.45 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 1.77% or 4.960 points to 284.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which fell 6.24% or 1.52 points to trade at 22.84 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 3.57% or 10.160 points to end at 274.530 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 2.73% or 1.770 points to 63.030.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 176 to 66 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.24% or 1.52 to 22.84.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.39% or 17.20 to $1250.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.46% or 0.78 to hit $54.37 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $56.49 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.08% to 19.6774, while EUR/MXN fell 0.01% to 20.8030.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 100.95.
