Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 1.58% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which rose 4.22% or 0.560 points to trade at 13.830 at the close. Meanwhile, GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT) added 3.93% or 1.210 points to end at 31.970 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 3.38% or 3.950 points to 120.940 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which fell 2.59% or 0.510 points to trade at 19.160 at the close. Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 0.02% or 0.010 points to end at 64.490 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 0.06% or 0.020 points to 34.160.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 209 to 94 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) rose to all time highs; rising 3.38% or 3.950 to 120.940.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.32% or 3.90 to $1217.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.32% or 0.22 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.49 to trade at $76.62 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.80% to 18.7741, while EUR/MXN fell 0.25% to 21.9320.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 94.66.
