Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 4.57% or 2.240 points to trade at 51.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) added 3.81% or 1.76 points to end at 47.93 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 3.38% or 6.36 points to 194.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which fell 2.89% or 0.69 points to trade at 23.18 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.07% or 0.960 points to end at 45.510 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was down 1.04% or 0.290 points to 27.630.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 222 to 88 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.74% or 9.75 to $1325.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.48% or 0.26 to hit $53.97 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.46 to trade at $61.08 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.04% to 19.1161, while EUR/MXN fell 0.29% to 21.8832.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 95.292.
