’Fasten your seatbelts’— BTIG strategists warn of coming turbulence
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO), which rose 5.36% or 2.53 points to trade at 49.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) added 4.73% or 1.04 points to end at 23.05 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) was up 4.07% or 0.55 points to 14.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA), which fell 2.95% or 1.27 points to trade at 41.71 at the close. Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) declined 2.77% or 1.44 points to end at 50.61 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) was down 2.56% or 0.89 points to 33.93.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 128 to 98 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.70% or 23.70 to $3,384.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.69% or 0.51 to hit $74.01 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.02% or 1.59 to trade at $77.26 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.77% to 19.17, while EUR/MXN rose 1.02% to 22.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 98.35.
