Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC), which rose 5.93% or 10.80 points to trade at 192.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) added 3.68% or 1.48 points to end at 41.73 and Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) was up 2.66% or 9.26 points to 358.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX), which fell 2.35% or 1.32 points to trade at 54.77 at the close. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) declined 2.28% or 4.43 points to end at 190.01 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) was down 1.63% or 0.72 points to 43.58.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 141 to 122 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.45 to $2,795.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.11% or 0.82 to hit $72.95 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.86% or 0.66 to trade at $75.83 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 20.53, while EUR/MXN fell 0.15% to 21.38.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 107.82.
