Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Trade & Services and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI gained 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were KLCC Property Holdings Bhd (KL:KLCC), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 7.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Bumiputra - Commerce Holdings Bhd (KL:CIMB) added 3.77% or 0.18 points to end at 4.95 and Petronas Dagangan Bhd (KL:PETR) was up 0.38% or 0.08 points to 21.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Axiata Group Bhd (KL:AXIA), which rose 0.17% or 0.01 points to trade at 5.92 at the close. DiGi.Com Bhd (KL:DSOM) added 0.59% or 0.03 points to end at 5.12 and IOI Corporation Bhd (KL:IOIB) was up 0.51% or 0.02 points to 3.91.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 366 to 165 and 37 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.19% or 0.09 to $46.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.43% or 0.21 to hit $50.28 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.34% or 3.90 to trade at $1129.70 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was up 0.55% to 2.9979, while USD/MYR rose 0.58% to 4.2443.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.86.
