At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI added 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE), which rose 2.50% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.46 at the close. Meanwhile, RHB Capital Bhd (KL:RHBC) added 2.39% or 0.17 points to end at 7.28 and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENA) was up 1.87% or 0.24 points to 13.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH), which fell 2.29% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.71 at the close. Hong Leong Bank Bhd (KL:HLBB) declined 2.03% or 0.28 points to end at 13.50 and DiGi.Com Bhd (KL:DSOM) was down 1.43% or 0.08 points to 5.51.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 367 to 180 and 49 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.91% or 0.55 to $60.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.94% or 0.59 to hit $63.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.56% or 6.70 to trade at $1195.20 a troy ounce.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 94.39.
