Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Automobiles & Parts and Precision Instruments sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were M3 Inc (TYO:2413), which rose 6.48% or 110.50 points to trade at 1,815.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (TYO:5801) added 6.20% or 217.00 points to end at 3,718.00 and IHI Corp. (TYO:7013) was up 5.40% or 415.00 points to 8,095.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TOTO Ltd. (TYO:5332), which fell 12.61% or 621.00 points to trade at 4,303.00 at the close. Tokuyama Corp. (TYO:4043) declined 3.68% or 100.50 points to end at 2,630.00 and Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (TYO:4519) was down 1.74% or 137.00 points to 7,718.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2770 to 830 and 247 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 19.54% to 25.86.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.19% or 0.13 to $67.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.20% or 0.14 to hit $70.86 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.36% or 9.95 to trade at $2,765.85 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.21% to 152.96, while EUR/JPY fell 0.26% to 165.34.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.18.
