Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Travel & Leisure and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 2.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Recordati (MI:RECI), which rose 1.51% or 0.38 points to trade at 25.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) added 1.21% or 0.21 points to end at 17.62 and Atlantia (MI:ATL) was down 0.69% or 0.15 points to 21.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII), which fell 7.69% or 0.0317 points to trade at 0.3803 at the close. Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) declined 7.05% or 0.182 points to end at 2.400 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was down 6.21% or 0.410 points to 6.190.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 356 to 53 and 20 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.21% or 1.50 to $45.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.16% or 1.52 to hit $46.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.55% or 19.95 to trade at $1307.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1111, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.9026.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 97.27.
