Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Travel & Leisure and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.57% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 3.45% or 0.098 points to trade at 2.942 at the close. Meanwhile, Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) added 2.38% or 0.0900 points to end at 3.8700 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was up 0.82% or 0.11 points to 13.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which fell 3.63% or 0.370 points to trade at 9.810 at the close. Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) declined 3.38% or 0.44 points to end at 12.56 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was down 3.37% or 1.23 points to 35.27.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 280 to 81 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.38% or 0.0900 to 3.8700.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.29% or 0.13 to $44.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $47.59 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.11 to trade at $1245.99 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1425, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8798.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 95.44.
