Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Exor NV (MI:EXOR), which rose 1.19% or 0.54 points to trade at 45.87 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 1.16% or 0.150 points to end at 13.130 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) was up 1.02% or 0.1300 points to 12.9200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which fell 3.35% or 0.088 points to trade at 2.540 at the close. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) declined 2.78% or 0.100 points to end at 3.500 and Saipem (MI:SPMI) was down 2.66% or 0.0124 points to 0.4533.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 181 to 166 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Exor NV (MI:EXOR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.19% or 0.54 to 45.87.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.39% or 0.21 to $52.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.45% or 0.25 to hit $55.72 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.25 to trade at $1231.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0600, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8504.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 101.06.
