Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 2.11% or 0.280 points to trade at 13.580 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 1.41% or 0.150 points to end at 10.790 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 1.24% or 0.22 points to 18.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which fell 2.44% or 0.062 points to trade at 2.482 at the close. Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) declined 1.57% or 0.095 points to end at 5.960 and Generali (MI:GASI) was down 1.41% or 0.21 points to 14.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 188 to 154 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.11% or 0.280 to 13.580.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.32% or 0.17 to $53.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.57% or 0.32 to hit $56.13 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1238.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0621, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8522.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 100.84.
