The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Hera (BIT:HRA), which rose 3.79% or 0.13 points to trade at 3.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Inwit (BIT:INWT) added 1.92% or 0.19 points to end at 10.10 and Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI) was up 1.92% or 0.57 points to 30.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which fell 8.75% or 6.30 points to trade at 65.70 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) declined 2.00% or 0.13 points to end at 6.36 and Buzzi Unicem (BIT:BZU) was down 1.61% or 0.64 points to 39.06.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 300 to 234 and 42 ended unchanged.
Shares in Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.92% or 0.57 to 30.25.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.87% or 2.14 to $72.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.49% or 1.93 to hit $75.62 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.51% or 42.51 to trade at $2,764.09 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 107.21.
