Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI), which rose 0.68% or 0.16 points to trade at 23.61 at the close. Meanwhile, DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) added 0.50% or 0.50 points to end at 101.50 and Recordati (BIT:RECI) was up 0.50% or 0.25 points to 50.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which fell 2.86% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.00 at the close. Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR) declined 2.72% or 0.35 points to end at 12.50 and UniCredit SpA (BIT:CRDI) was down 2.25% or 0.82 points to 35.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 293 to 198 and 45 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.72% or 0.35 to 12.50.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.48% or 0.35 to $73.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.48% or 0.37 to hit $77.29 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 1.40 to trade at $2,542.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 101.40.
