Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Amplifon (BIT:AMPF), which rose 4.37% or 1.23 points to trade at 29.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Recordati (BIT:RECI) added 3.13% or 1.53 points to end at 50.35 and Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) was up 2.81% or 0.26 points to 9.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI), which fell 3.16% or 0.23 points to trade at 7.04 at the close. Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) declined 2.78% or 0.63 points to end at 22.01 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (BIT:FBK) was down 2.73% or 0.44 points to 15.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 263 to 221 and 49 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.52% or 2.63 to $77.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.01% or 2.35 to hit $80.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 16.20 to trade at $2,468.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.95.
