Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 2.15% or 0.58 points to trade at 27.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Prysmian (MI:PRY) added 1.66% or 0.28 points to end at 16.82 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) was up 1.52% or 0.122 points to 8.142 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which fell 6.23% or 0.67 points to trade at 10.09 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 2.27% or 0.22 points to end at 9.64 and Banca Generali (MI:BGN) was down 1.90% or 0.36 points to 18.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 212 to 140 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.23% or 0.67 to 10.09. Shares in Tenaris (MI:TENR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.27% or 0.22 to 9.64.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 4.72% or 2.37 to $47.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.54% or 2.11 to hit $57.50 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1252.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1366, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8988.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 96.502.
