Italy stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 up 1.69%

Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.69%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were UBI Banca (MI:UBI), which rose 9.59% or 0.2960 points to trade at 3.3840 at the close. Meanwhile, Exor NV (MI:EXOR) added 6.73% or 2.69 points to end at 42.69 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) was up 5.99% or 0.300 points to 5.310 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Leonardo Finmeccanica SpA (MI:LDOF), which fell 0.23% or 0.030 points to trade at 13.070 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to end at 15.0800 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was up 0.08% or 0.02 points to 24.65.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 245 to 88 and 20 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 to 15.0800. Shares in Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.08% or 0.02 to 24.65.

Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.77% or 0.41 to $52.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.57% or 0.32 to hit $55.69 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.45% or 5.35 to trade at $1194.45 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0625, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8706.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 101.35.
